DAY 36 - LISTEN
Father Rio Evangelista is the parish priest of Our Lady of Beautiful Love in Merville Park, Paranaque City. Despite his advanced years and the risk of acquiring COVID 19, he still presides during daily masses in our parish. I look forward to listening to his homily to guide me in my daily life.
If you have been diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic, you worry about recovering from your illness, aside from succumbing to the other C, i.e. COVID. It is time to listen.
To master the Art of Listening, you must go on a silent retreat. Be like the Prophet Elijah who went up to the mountain to hear the Word of God. The voice was not in the wind. It was not in the earthquake. It was not even in the fire. Elijah heard it as a gentle whisper.
You have to sit, relax, and listen amidst the noise brought about by the fear of COVID 19 and the economic uncertainty to discern God's will for your life. God knows well the plans He has in mind for you. You may not know it for now. Do not wait for Holy Week. Go on a silent retreat at home right now if you have no other place to go.

From Jeremiah 7:23, "Thus says the Lord, This is what I commanded my people: Listen to my voice; then I will be your God and you shall be my people. Walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, so that you may prosper."
PRAY
Lord God, Almighty Father and Heavenly King, may I listen to Your gentle whisper so I can achieve the healing that I desire. Thank You for the people You send my way to help me in my quest for recovery and to avoid the recurrence of cancer. May I heed their advice especially with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and through the intercession of Mama Mary. In Jesus Name. AMEN.
