PURITY OF HEART - Day 26 of the Healing Journey with Jesus

Day 26 - PURITY OF HEART

When my mother, Kuya Vigil, and I went to the Holy Land last February 2018, we saw the mosaic image of Mama Mary and the Baby Jesus at the Dormition Abbey. I remembered the story of the Annunciation. When the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she will conceive and bear a son through the Holy Spirit, She said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." Mary was chosen to be the vessel of Jesus because she was born without sin. She served the Lord with purity of heart when She accepted God's calling to be the Mother of Jesus. She agreed not because She wanted the glory but because Her intentions to help save mankind from sin were pure.

When you were diagnosed with cancer and when you recovered from it, did you serve others with a pure heart just like Mary? Did you respond to God’s calling to be His instrument of healing and His ambassador on earth to help others survive and eventually thrive? Do not be afraid to follow your dreams because your intentions are pure. According to St. John Vianney, "Let us live as the Blessed Virgin lived ... loving God only, desiring God only, trying to please God only in all we do."

PAUSE

From Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

PRAY

Dear Lord, purify my thoughts. Purify my motives so that I may serve with a big heart just like Yours. I consecrate myself to Mary .and ask guidance from the Holy Spirit so that I can do Your most Holy will. In Jesus Name. AMEN.
