Mothers are the First Doctors in the House.

“Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you.” (Isaiah 49:15)

The couple walked towards the end of the hall and entered the doctor’s clinic. “Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Dela Cruz. Dr. Angel Singson is waiting for you inside,” said the secretary.

“Good morning, Jose and Maria. How are you?” asked Dr. Singson. Maria replied, “I have wonderful news, doc. I’m pregnant again!”

“That’s great! Your face has a certain glow and Jose seems to be walking on clouds.

Despite having five miscarriages, three before the birth of Jess and two afterwards, you continue to be a good patient and a great mother. So this next baby is very welcome,” the doctor said.

Mothers are the first doctors in the house.

They nurture their babies in their wombs even before they are born. Any food, drink or chemicals that they take in, healthy or not, can affect the growth and development of the fetus. Even their thoughts, emotions and habits play a role in the birth outcome and maturity of the babies.

Motherhood is a sacred vocation and for others, a scary one, too, especially if you have not prepared for it. It does not start only when you conceive a child. long before you plan to have a baby, you take care of yourself because you cannot give what you do not have.

The question is How can you be a healthy mom and give birth to a healthy child?

Always Remember the mnemonic S.P.I.C.E.S. We will share this to you in our next Blog. Watch out for it.
