LIGHT - Day 17 of the Healing Journey with Jesus

Doc Joy giving a talk to Senior Citizens in Quezon City

DAY 17 - LIGWhen I first found out that I had breast cancer in 2011, I was in limbo. Everything I saw around me was darkness. I was afraid of the uncertainty. But I chose to find the purpose of my illness. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and I overcame. I became part of a non-government organization (NGO) founded by my good friend, Doc Romy Paredes, the Self-Health Empowerment Movement (SHEM). We gave talks all over the Philippines on how to take charge of one's health. I shared my story about my journey of healing and how I turned my cancer into my calling. I have been to different parts of Metro Manila, Calamba, Bataan, Cebu, Bacolod and even Ormoc, Leyte.

I am now a cancer survivor, a pink warrior, and a thriver because I choose to be a joyful champion. At the 3H Cancer Recovery Center, we help cancer patients with mental health problems build peace of mind and strengthen their bodies through a therapeutic lifestyle change to treat, avoid the recurrence, and prevent the progression of the disease without additional medications within the comfort and safety of the home. When you have been diagnosed, choose to be the light in someone else’s darkest hours as you share how you thrive and not just survive cancer.

PAUSE

From John 3:21, " But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God."

PRAY

God, Almighty Father, have mercy on me a sinner. Even though trials come my way, may I be a beacon of light to lead others to You as I consecrate myself totally to Your Immaculate Mother and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name. AMEN.

PERFORM

Be the light to someone who feels lost and afraid by being present in the midst of darkness in their life today.
