Learn to Love Yourself!
When I attended the First Vegan Collaboration Festival (VCF) held in the campus of the University of the Philippines High School in Cebu City one Sunday last year, i.e., January 6, 2019, I met Ojas Oneness, an Indian national and founder of Diviners Org.
He gave a talk on the “Simplicity of Happiness and Peace.” He used to dream about being an actor in Bollywood but has decided to walk around the world. He has found his advocacy and has spread the word through his conscious living tour and part of it was happening in Cebu City. He discussed about the five things that matter in the world today: money, sex, food, shelter and relationship. He said that how you view each of them will affect your state of well-being, especially about your relationship.

You are a social being. You don’t really live alone but interact with others. Every people that you meet in your journey has a profound effect not just in yourself but the whole universe as well. Thus, be conscious of how you treat yourself because what you want to experience starts from within. If you want peace, unity and love everywhere, you have to begin in yourself.
To love yourself is not being selfish. It is accepting yourself for what you are, scars and all. It is celebrating who you are, that you are created in the image and likeness of God. God created everything good and beautiful and that’s what you are. You are His masterpiece. You are molded by your experience. The trials and tribulations that you face make you a better person.
Value Yourself
Fill up your love tank so that you can give to others. You cannot give what you don’t have. If you are looking for your life purpose or that special someone, if it is God’s will, it will be done. If it were meant to be, it will happen.
You can’t be a passive spectator just waiting in the sidelines. You have to be an active participant. Work on yourself first. Start inside of you. Be conscious of your breathing and everything that is happening within you.
Youthful
Embrace the youthfulness in you. Don’t be afraid to be a child again. Enjoy your day no matter what happens. Don’t forget to smile more and worry less. Learn to laugh to your heart’s delight. Be happy for every new day that you wake up because you have been given the chance to see the world again.
Obedient
Obey the statutes and the commandment of the Lord. Let the Holy Bible guide you in your daily living. May every decision that you make from day to day be a reflection of the inner you that shines and gives light to the world. The very core of being obedient is to love God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your strength and with all your soul and to love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Useful
Find out how you can serve others and be useful in your work, community and country. Share your time, talent and treasure because you are blessed to be a blessing to others. Be a gift.
Learn to love yourself. Change your story to change your life.
Be a better version of yourself by being Y.O.U. (Youthful, Obedient, Useful).
