DAY 6 - EMPOWERMENT
My older brother, Kuya Vigil, has young onset Parkinson’s disease just like Michael J. Fox. He loses his balance when he fails to keep his feet apart. He finds it difficult to grasp objects because his hands are always fisted. He drops on a chair unceremoniously when he does it fast instead of doing it slowly. When he wants to rise from the chair, he falls back anew when he fails to stand up fast. When we went to Central Park in Manhattan, NY in September 2019, we allowed him to walk alone since there was enough space for him to get his bearings while keeping an eye on him so he will not fall because we wanted to empower him. It was the perfect place to get lost too and that was what happened. But with God’s grace, he retraced his steps so my younger sister, Sade, found him.
Empowerment is the key to awaken the healer in yourself. You can take charge of your health. You can be your own doctor in your own home. The power of healing is in your hands with God's amazing grace, through the intercession of Mama Mary, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You can harness the energy to enable your body to heal itself aside from the usual medical interventions (i.e. surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation) but also through non-medical solutions like faith in God, proper nutrition as medicine, regular exercise, enough sleep, love of nature, a positive attitude, stress management, social connectivity, forgiveness, and love of God, neighbor and yourself.
PAUSE
From Isaiah 40:31, "...they who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar as eagles' wings. They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint".
PRAY
Father, God, I give myself entirely to Jesus through Mary. I entrust my whole being to her, my body and soul, my goods, both exterior and interior, and the value of my good works. I empower myself and help others to do the same. This I ask through the intercession of Mama Mary. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Let the Holy Spirit guide you today as you decide your treatment options and manage your disease so that you will be empowered to awaken the healer in yourself.
