Cancer is not a punishment from God but a wake-up call. God wants you to value the life that He has given you because you have been created in His own image and likeness. He wants you to be holy because He is holy. A quick, easy and secure way to be holy is to be like Mary by dying to oneself so you can be closer to her Son, Jesus Christ. Look upon your illness as a means to be holy because you have been tested through what you suffered and will be able to help those who are being tested.
Cancer are cells that appear normal at first but due to repeated oxidative stress or chronic inflammation, the normal cells are damaged. In an attempt to repair the damage, the cells undergo changes to restore the body in its normal state to the point of being killed through apoptosis. If this process fails in prolonged periods in time like months, years and even decades, the cells become resistant and become bigger, irregular in shape and even change their structure to encroach into adjacent cells and invade other tissues and organs to become cancer cells. Some of them slough off and are transported into nearby structure or organs through the lymphatic system and blood vessels to reach the lungs, the liver and the brain which is called metastasis. Due to an unhealthy lifestyle, you damage the normal cells.
You have been given the ability to heal yourself but if this inherent capacity is impaired, you have to be pruned through other means like surgery, radiation or chemotherapy. It is just like dying into yourself. You have to lose a portion of your body so that a new you emerges, someone who is holy just like Mama Mary who is more beautiful, smarter and more peaceful because you choose to do God's will.
Today is Day 4 of the 30 days to Change Your Life After Cancer Diagnosis. When you PAUSE, you reflect on God's words. When you PRAY, you ask for God's help, And when you PERFORM, you do your best and God will do the rest because "...faith without works is dead."(James 2:26)

From 1 Peter 1:14-16, "Like obedient children, do not act in compliance with the desires of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in every aspect of your conduct, for it is written, "Be holy because I am holy."
PRAY
Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to be truly sorry for my sins. I aspire to be holy so I can be closer to you. I consecrate myself to you through Mary. May I be meek but active and rustic but youthful just like her. In Jesus Name. AMEN.
PERFORM
In everything you think, say and do, be like Jesus.
